About Us
Crafted in Istanbul Project first started in a master degree class at Istanbul Technical University, Department of Industrial Design. The workshops we visited, the craftsmen we met have been a source of information for us. They told us the history and the current situation of region. We have noticed that this cumulated knowledge of workshop and craft is endangered.
In Crafted in Istanbul Project, we have been working on since 2012, we visit workshops one by one and we try to documnet all of them by contacting the craftsmen.
We believe, the existence of craft and craftsmen is possible by sharing the knowledge and creating the collaborations with craftsmen.
